Good afternoon! Below is the schedule for this Tuesday’s Meet the Teacher Night (Tuesday, 8/5):
6:00 to 6:10 Period 1
6:15 to 6:25 Period 2
6:30 to 6:40 Period 3
6:45 to 6:55 Period 4
7:00 to 7:10 Period 5
7:15 to 7:25 Period 6
7:30 to 7:40 Period 7
*Parents please take a snapshot of your child’s schedule, print one out at home, or use an electronic one to follow your child’s schedule to meet the teachers. Student Ambassadors will be in the school, as well, to help you find classrooms
*Teachers will cover, among other things, a class syllabus, contact information, class expectations, and Canvas expectations.
*Counselors and administrators will be available in the main office and hallways.
*Parents of students in study hall, as well as all parents, are encouraged to tour the building and talk with counselors and administrators.
*Mrs Laug, Director of Guidance, held the Senior College Application Jump Start earlier in the summer and we will send out her recording and information rather than have her repeat her presentation.

It was great to see so many of you at Freshmen Orientation this evening. Thanks for taking time to tour the high school and listen to the various speakers to help engage in your child’s education.

GHS students & parents can enjoy a great evening of Trivia at GHS on March 11. Mr. Williams will be the MC, and teams of 4 maximum can earn great prizes while enjoying refreshments.
*All proceeds will go toward good works organized by the Service Club.


Greenwood Schools will be on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, December 3rd. Buses will arrive two hours later than normal.

The Lilly Endowment Scholarship Application is now open. This competitive scholarship provides FULL TUITION, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis, leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. 3 scholarships will be awarded for students in Johnson County. Mrs. Laug will host an information session about the Lilly Scholarship on Friday, 8/9 during PowerHour 2 in the College and Career Center. Please see your email for more details.

We would like to share with our families the following exciting news. For the upcoming 2024-25 school year, all students will be provided with a free breakfast and a free lunch. The district food service department has worked with the state to enable all students to receive one complete breakfast and one complete lunch each day.

Important Upcoming Dates:
*Freshmen Orientation at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 24th in the Auditorium (Doors will open at 6 pm).
*GHS will be open for students to walk their schedules on Thursday, July 25th from 8 am to 11 am.
*First Day of school for students is Wednesday, July 31st!

Office hours at GHS this summer will be Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 12 pm. Have a great summer!

Yearbooks
Ordering yearbooks online through Jostens is no longer available. If you'd like to purchase a yearbook, contact Mrs. Green at dgreen@gws.k12.in.us The yearbooks will be distributed in late May, and no extra yearbooks will be available to purchase. Order that book immediately if you want one.


This is an update for Friday, January 19th: Greenwood Schools will be e-learning. Schools will be closed due to the continued snowfall. Thank you for your understanding in this difficult weather situation.

Greenwood Schools will be on a 2-hour delay for Friday, January 19th. Buses will be arriving 2 hours later than normal.

Greenwood Community Schools will be on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 17th. There will be no early dismissal due to the delay. This means school will end at the same time as it does on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Buses will arrive 2-hours later than normal.
