June 27. Herff Jones will present a workshop focused on our theme and design development fo 2018-2019 from 8:30 - 3:30 p.m. This workshop is free, but yearbook staffers need to let Ms. Roberts know they will attend.


July 23. Herff Jones will present a workshop focused on the video we will add to the 2018-2019 yearbook. Ben & Mallory are attending.

Journalism Advertising Info

Support the GHS yearbook, newspaper, daily video broadcast, and webpage through advertising while reaching students, teachers, staff members, parents, and community members.


August 7, 2018 / Indiana State Fair

$2 Tuesday / Student pay their own admission at the gate and contribute $10 each for transportation.

Depart GHS at 10 a.m. / Return to GHS at 2:15 p.m. / students will buy their own lunches

This activity will kick off our year as we begin by exploring ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. With a specific list of photo types to take, students will explore the Indiana State Fair.


January 14-17, 2019 / Day in the Life Half-Day

Students will take photos individually at pre-selected and authorized local businesses as part of this project. They can choose which pre-arranged half day to use between Jan. 14 – 17. In fact, I am going to submit a grant request to cover large display presentation boards so these Day in the Life projects featuring local businesses will be on display outside the varsity gym near the concession stand area so our sports fans will be able to enjoy them for a few weeks.


May 7, 2019 / Nashville (Indiana) Project

Depart GHS at 9 a.m. / Return to GHS at 2:15 p.m.

Students will pay for their own lunches and contribute $10 each for transportation.

Students will explore Nashville with specific area guidelines through photography, completing a specific checklist of photo types and photography techniques. This specific activity will lead to their portfolio final exam project.
